does anyone know what's happening to my lip (TW: injury, red spots)

it has like red blotches idk

I do pick my lip a lot
but it’s not bleeding at all at the moment, this was on my lip yesterday too.
earlier it was brighter, like neon red blotches.
does anyone know what this is??

@femboy-X3 Ouchh, you should probably stop picking at it because below that skin is another layer of sensitive skin, which can remain a bright red color.
Also try to avoid licking your lips as well - that can make it even rawer and redder.

it’s really hard to stop picking my lip
I’m actually wondering if I have dermatillomania or skin picking disorder
basically its where someone picks at their skin (in my case, my lip) and doesn’t stop even if it’s bleeding or it hurts really bad
it’s scarily accurate to what I do to my lip
I don’t stop if it bleeds; in fact, I consider my lip bleeding to be pretty cool which is concerning
and I don’t care if it hurts to the point that I cry; I will rip the skin off super fast just so it doesn’t hurt.

Shazz_ I also find chapstick to be extremely uncomfortable, I usually just lick it off and it never helps because of that.

Well, please try to stop picking, because it will only get worse - eventually the pain won’t be tolerable anymore, so I want you to take care of your lip.
Even if it is uncomfortable, try and use your chapstick because it can re-hydrate your skin.
