Practicing the Accordion! 🪗

Over the weekend, my older brother went to a thrift shop and happened to come across a real Italian accordion!
I’ve been practicing it for a few days now, and I can tell you that it’s truly massive when you hold it, although you actually have to harness it onto your back with straps which, on this one, broke off because they were really old, but we’re buying new ones ^^
In total there are 41 keys, and the little buttons are the various chords and bass notes in relation to their adjacent/diagonal buttons.
From bottom to top layers, it’s diminished chords, dominant 7th chords, minor chords, major chords and sharp and flat bass notes!

You can see how big it is compared to a toy accordion I had for a while ^^

I recorded some audio of me playing some bass lines and just improvising a few things :) - It’s hard to keep up the tempo sometimes, haha.

It’s difficult to memorize exactly where each button is, corresponding to what chord, but it’s honestly one of the funnest instruments I’ve played! Although piano will always remain at the top for me ^^

Sorry if it’s a little confusing - basically, major is happy, minor is sad, diminished sounds scary or suspenseful and the dominant 7 chords are chords that smoothly flow to major or minor.

Shazz_ My mom has one of those but it’s still at her dad’s house so I have never seen it. She said she’d like me to try it some day but we’re not sure how to ask about it since my grandpa is not nice about that stuff XD. I am sure youll have a lot of fun with that.

I realized the accordion emoji is exactly the same as my real one! Haha ^^
The yellow tint to the cushions and the red color, regarding the fact that there are many colors and variations to accordions :)

Shazz_ No, it’s less wholesome than that lol. My mom’s dad gaslights/denies having stuff my mom left there when she moved out of his house, so we never got back her old instruments. My mom was in band in highschool, and played clarinet and accordion.
