Setting:

The story begins in a picturesque tropical paradise island, known for its pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, and lush, vibrant landscape. The island is part of a newly developed vacation resort that promises relaxation and adventure in equal measure. The world outside is bustling, but here, everything feels isolated and perfect—like a dream come true.

PLOT:

MC (Main character) and her four friends go on a dream vacation to the Oasis Ridge Resort, a tropical paradise known for its perfection and tranquility. On the first day, they begin noticing strange behaviors in the guests and staff, as well as odd occurrences that suggest something isn’t quite right with the island’s paradise. As they uncover the truth, they discover that the resort is built on a hidden experiment involving a parasitic treatment designed to keep everyone in a state of artificial happiness, forcing them to confront whether they should escape or stay in this seemingly perfect world.

The symptoms of the parasitic infection in “Paradise is Just a Parasite Away” include:

• Euphoric Calmness: A deep, unshakable sense of happiness and contentment, with no apparent worries or stress.

• Lack of Personal Motivation: A loss of personal ambition, with individuals becoming overly compliant and content with the status quo.

• Altered Perception of Time: A distortion in the perception of time, with days feeling blurred or stretched, as if nothing ever changes.

• Physical Fatigue or Weightlessness: A sense of physical relaxation to the point of immobility or lack of energy, sometimes feeling lightheaded or detached from the body.

• Memory Gaps: Periodic amnesia or blank spots in memory, where people forget certain events or moments, as if they were erased from consciousness.

• Paranoia or Anxiety in Unaffected Individuals: Those not fully infected might begin experiencing odd feelings of paranoia, dizziness, or discomfort when around those infected, sensing the unnatural calmness or blank expressions in others.

Sphinx Actually this reminds me of a similar movie- I forgot the name of it but essentially tourists visit a beach and become stranded. While the main characters try to survive, time is incredibly fast and alters their age. It’s a really scary horror concept but really cool at the same time
